Rock of Love Star Bret Michaels and his band Poison have just been confirmed to perform at this year’s Tony awards. Michaels, who continues to have one of the highest rated shows on VH1 three years running with his Rock of Love series and who is currently on tour with his solo band the BMB, will fly into New York City specifically for his reunion with Poison at the awards show. Michaels states “I’m excited to jam with Poison again and it is an absolute honor to perform at the Tony awards alongside other music legends like Elton John, Dolly Parton, and the cast of rock of ages.
The appearance will be the first time that Michaels has appeared with Poison on the red carpet since the infamous fight between him and C.C. DeVille took place at MTV Music awards. “There is no doubt C.C. and I have had a few altercations over the years. I typically avoid red carpet events because they aren’t really my thing and usually end in disaster for me. However I am hoping there will not be a repeat performance of the MTV incident and the four of us can get down the red carpet peacefully.”
Michaels’, autobiography, “Roses and Thorns” is scheduled to be released by Simon and Schuster this summer. He will continue to tour with his solo band, the BMB, until the beginning of the Def Leppard/Poison/ Cheap Trick tour scheduled to start on June 23rd in Camden NJ. For more information, tour dates or to pre order “Roses and Thorns” please visit bretmichaels.com.
